Soil samples continue to show soybean cyst nematode moving north and west in North Dakota. NDSU Extension Plant Pathologist Sam Markell says less sample were collected last fall because of the tough harvest condition. “This last year, we didn’t have as many samples come in due to the tough harvest conditions, but there are hot spots near Grand Forks.” Markell also says SCN doesn’t like saturated soils, but flooding will move them around.
