North Dakota Grain Growers Association lobbyist Jim Callan is keeping North Dakota wheat and barley in front of key lawmakers. “We’re working closely with the North Dakota Congressional delegation. They’ve been very supportive. We’ve also been meeting with senior officials expressing our views on different issues.” Crop insurance and trade policy has been the big pushes for the NDGGA. “You have to know the programs well. Participation in crop insurance is one of the highest in North Dakota and it’s important to a farmer’s livelihood.”
