Utterback Marketing President Bob Utterback says farmers may not like the price of corn, but take advantage of good basis levels. “You could be worse off storing some corn into next July. That’s the real risk in this market. Not that it goes much lower, the problem is it doesn’t rally until it has a reason.” Utterback says that reason may not occur for some time. “I think it will take time to re-cultivate the demand. I think it’s probably one to two years out before you can really start talking demand push. It’s really out there in the future.”
