The American Farm Bureau annual survey on the average cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is less than $5 per person. After three years of declines since 2015, the cost for the holiday meal is unchanged from last year. The survey found the cost for the Thanksgiving turkey is down four percent from last year. Foods showing a modest price increase included dinner rolls, sweet potatoes and milk. Farm Bureau said only eight cents out of every dollar spent on food goes to the American farmer.
