North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum praised the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for dealing with the propane shortage in several Midwestern states, but he wants similar actions taken for North Dakota farmers. The corn crop is very wet and only 23 percent of North Dakota’s corn has been harvested. Burgum said propane shortages and rising costs increase the burden from “an already challenging year.”
