Brazil’s government plans to implement a tariff rate quota allowing up to 750,000 metric tons of wheat to be imported duty-free from countries outside of the Mercosur trade agreement. Brazil is a large wheat importer and typically, wheat imports from countries like the U.S. are subject to a 10 percent tariff.
