The spring wheat is struggling near East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Adams Family Farm owner Chris Adams will wrap up harvest this week. “Wheat yield is down 30 percent. We had 300 to 400 acres sprouting and 150 acres hardly good enough for animal feed. It’s been interesting.” Adams says there hasn’t been a wheat crop like this in years. “Last year, we were down about 15 percent in yield, but the quality was really good. This year, we’re down 30 percent yield and the quality is poor.” Dry edible bean harvest will begin after the wheat is combined. Adams says the edible beans “look incredible.”
