Sunshine and warmer temperatures allow farmers to resume fieldwork near Bismarck, North Dakota. Byron Richard is helping a neighbor harvest wheat. The wheat is sprouting. Richard says some wheat growers are in limbo. “Do we wait for another rain to see if there’s more deterioration so crop insurance is beneficial or do we harvest? The farmer I’m combining wheat for this week, he’s in a wait and see mode. There could be more rain this week. If so, crop insurance could play into it.” Richard wrapped up wheat harvest prior to the recent rains. “We harvested wheat on the wetter side and dried it. We were able to get a quality crop in the grain bin.”
