Spring wheat harvest is past the halfway point for the Hillsboro, North Dakota area. Alton Grain Terminal Grain Department Manager Cory Tryan says quality is tough. “Rains bleached out quite a bit of the crop. The lodging in some fields are causing sprout. The falling numbers are under 300 and needs to be binned for now, until the market can find homes for it.” Tryan says wheat harvest should be wrapped up around September 10. “There’s not that much of it that’s late, but the good majority of it should be wrapped up by then.”
