Farmers across the region slammed the crop in this spring and all of a sudden, it’s August. CHS Ag Services General Manager Ryan Anderson says his growers in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota are feeling pretty good. “Overall, the crop looks pretty darn good. We’re on the verge of starting spring wheat harvest and we’ll be pre-piling beets here in August so farmers know they have a lot of work ahead of them.” For sugarbeet growers, Cercospora control is the priority. “It is a beet crop that we’ll want to protect; we’ve had some moisture in July that has been different from the past few years.” CHS Ag Services hosted its Allegiant Showcase Plot Tour Wednesday at Sherack, Minnesota.
