Anheuser-Busch Director of Midwest Malt and Barley Operations Paul Bolin says the malt barley industry is seeing a shift towards more 2-row barley. “The uniformity, plumpness, lower protein levels and profile it gives us from a malting side fits what we’re trying to do,” says Bolin. “The more we can get, the better we can be. We want to bring the 2-row to the malting plant as close as possible, which is why we’re going that route.”
