With the spraying season underway, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture is reminding farmers and applicators of the Special Local Needs label for use of dicamba on soybeans. Only those certified can apply FeXapan, XtendiMax and Engenia herbicides over the top, with application allowed one hour after sunrise to two hours before sunset.”The label allows beans to be sprayed in North Dakota up to June 30 or R1 stage, whichever comes first,” says Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “We do stress the use of other weed management strategies so you aren’t just relying on one chemistry to take care of the issues.” There are also state-specific cutoff dates of June 20 in Minnesota and June 30 in South Dakota for dicamba application. Listen to the conversation.
