Winter weather is finishing strong and can cause stress on the farm. Minnesota Department of Agriculture Director of Rural Mental Health Ted Matthews tells farmers to take each day at a time. Breathing exercises can help calm in the transition. All it takes is five minutes to sit down, relax and think of something positive. This is also a good time to be with family and friends. “It’s an incredibly good time to bond,” says Matthews. “Use that to your advantage. That will help all year long.”
