Two major late winter storms are expected to impact the central and eastern United States in the next week. USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says the first system will impact the Midwest causing new or prolonged flooding. “Some of the impacts include wind-driven snow, potential blizzard conditions for parts of the Northern Plains,” says Rippey. “At the same time, there’s another heavy rain event expected in areas of the mid-south and lower Midwest that are already swimming in water. There could be two to four inches of rain in already wet areas.”
