Lately, the markets have been driven by news headlines and Twitter activity. According to Stewert-Peterson Senior Market Advisor Brian Doherty, the markets may be a little tired. “Patience is being tested. In particular, we keep hitting resistance levels with corn and can’t break through those,” says Doherty. ” With snowy and wet conditions, Doherty adds it has been tough getting product to market. The other side of that coin is the weather hasn’t been ideal for cattle feeders either. “The last USDA report showed a 125 million bushel feed reduction. It’s almost like the market is taking weather premium out within the last week when premium should actually be put back in.” Hear more from Doherty.
