The South Dakota House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee tabled a bill that would have added Palmer amaranth to the state’s noxious weed list. At this point, only perennial weeds can be considered a noxious weed. Palmer amaranth is an annual, making it ineligible. Representative John Lake sponsored by bill, but said it will be better to go through the state rule-making process.
