In the State of the Union address, President Donald Trump highlighted his trade agenda. At the top of that list is the current trade negotiations with China. “It must include real structural change to end unfair trade practices, reduce our chronic trade deficit and protect American jobs.” Trump described the North American Free Trade Agreement as “a historic trade blunder.” The president urged Congress to ratify the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement and expand American agriculture. Trump also said Democrats and Republicans should be able to unite to rebuild America’s infrastructure.
