In 2018, the live and feeder cattle contracts showed gains. February live cattle gained $2.37 on the year, and April live cattle gained $3.83 for the year. For the year, January feeder cattle gained $2.85, while March feeders gained $4.78. It was a tough year for the hog market, as lean hogs lost $10.80 cents. The April futures contract ended the year down $8.58 cents.
