At the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association Convention, the Policy and Resolutions Committee outlined priorities for the upcoming year. MSCA President Krist Wollum says one issue that rose to the top is cell-cultured protein products. “We need to make sure we’re ahead of the curve and that it can’t be labeled as beef or hamburger,” says Wollum. For cow/calf producers, grazing continues to be top-of-mind. “We would like to potentially expand grazing on public lands and develop a program that’s beneficial for both the state and producers.” In addition, Wollum adds regulations continue to be top-of-mind for cattle feeders. “As an association, we want to make sure feeders aren’t dealing with over-excessive regulations.”
