A farm bill agreement is a big step for the conference committee. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway explains the next steps once the Congressional Budget Office reviews the bill. “We have to be firm with staff that any differences are resolved quickly to get the bill to the floor,” said Conaway. “We need to get the conference report written and conferees need to sign the report. I haven’t had conversations on the timing for the bill on if the House or Senate will go first.”
