The dairy industry is experiencing record export pace for products in the first nine months of the year. At the Minnesota Milk Dairy Conference and Expo, U.S. Dairy Export Council President and CEO Tom Vilsack said there are opportunities for U.S. dairy in southeast Asia, Japan and Korea. Once the U.S.-Canada Mexico Agreement is ratified, there’s potential to expand the footprint in Mexico and tap into the Canadian market. “We’re still trying to fully interpret the agreement to determine whether or not it actually provides market access to Canada,” said Vilsack. “We just need to continue to do more and become better in growing markets; more promotions and more partnerships, which we’ve been doing over the last nine months.”
