The end of October determined the final harvest price for revenue-based crop insurance. Ihry Insurance agent Reed Ihry says wheat dropped 5.71 percent, corn dropped 7.07 percent and the biggest drop in the soybeans was at 15.35 percent. “With an Actual Production History in Nelson County of 40 bushels per acre and 75 percent coverage, it would be possible for farmers to draw an indemnity payment with a 35 bushel per acre yield or less,” says Ihry. The APH yield guarantees vary by county. Famers should contact their insurance agent to see if they qualify for an indemnity payment.
