Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar hopes after the elections, cooler heads prevail in farm bill discussions. In a meeting Sunday night, Klobuchar and House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson told growers there’s still a chance a bill may not be completed at the end of the session. Klobuchar says the nutrition title and the commodity titles are still a hang up. If a bill isn’t completed by the end of the lame duck session then lawmakers start over again. “We have a good grounding with the bill that passed in the Senate. That’s a good sign we could resurrect that bill. It’s the House that’s been the issue.”
