As of Tuesday, American Crystal Sugar Company general agronomist Tyler Grove said sugarbeet growers had 85 percent of the crop harvested. Grove expects the average yield to be just shy of 30 tons. “We’ll probably call it a 29-to-30 range. With 15 percent of harvest left to go, we are most likely not going to be over the 30 ton mark, but we should be over 29 tons,” says Grove. “Sugars have been doing well. That’s the interesting part, some increases in sugar.”
