Farmers enrolled in the Farm Service Agency’s 2017 Agricultural Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs will receive payments soon. PLC payments have started for 2017 barley, canola, corn, grain sorghum and wheat. Producers with bases enrolled in ARC for 2017 crops can find more details on updated yields, prices, revenue and payment rates on the FSA website. The ARC totals are estimated payments before the application of sequestration, as well as other reductions such as adjusted gross income limits and payment limits. Altogether, USDA says $3 billion in payments are expected to be made for the 2017 year. For 2018, $1.8 billion will be allotted for Conservation Reserve Program payments.
