Farmers are fighting the mud, but St. Thomas, North Dakota farmer Allen Tucker says good rains helped with potato harvest. “Our yields were down, so our bins are not packed full, and I don’t think many of our neighbor’s bins are full. However, I do think we’re all going to be better because of it,” says Tucker. “Last year, we pushed the market and pushed the trucking. We never did get done and had to dump the end of them. This year, our bins are maybe 80 percent full.” Watch Tucker’s fresh potatoes get inspected ahead of bagging.
