World Weather Incorporated Senior Agriculture Meteorologist Drew Lerner says spotty rainfall can be expected across the northern plains this week. Many areas could either stay dry or have less than one-quarter of an inch of rain. Lerner also says a colder air mass later this week could bring frost into the northern areas of North Dakota and Minnesota. “The coldest conditions are probably Friday into the weekend. At this point, it’s a little questionable to how significant that will be, but I’m certainly watching closely what’s happening in Canada. There will snow that’s going to fall in Alberta. That’s going to help to reinforce the cold air once it settles in. I think that’s going to raise the potential we could see a little bit more significant frost and freeze event for parts northwestern North Dakota.”
