Potato harvest is beginning in the Red River Valley region. NDSU Extension Potato Agronomist Andy Robinson says dry conditions have impacted the non-irrigated potatoes. “While the dry weather has kept the disease pressure low, yields may not be as high as producers would like. There are also harvest concerns if we don’t get much more moisture.” For the fresh market, Robinson adds potato vines have been desiccated, which means harvest is about three weeks away.
