Walhalla, North Dakota farmer Patrick Dunnigan is just getting started with wheat harvest. “We took off wheat on some sandy, lighter ground. It came off dry and yields were better than we thought they were going to be.” Yields are averaging around 60 bushels per acre. Moisture is 13 percent and protein is an average of 16 percent. Dunnigan says rain is needed. “When it comes to fall crops, the soybeans and corn are really hurting for rain.”
