Fisher, Minnesota farmer Curt Knutson started harvesting wheat on Tuesday. “There are a couple of pieces along the river that were relatively dry from the lack of rain. They weren’t so bad (with yields) in the 75-to-80 bushel range. The quality was decent, with proteins above 14 and the test weight just slightly above 60 pounds.” Sugarbeet pre-pile is next on Knutson’s harvest checklist, likely starting in early September.
