The Cattle Industry Summer Business meeting is underway through Saturday in Denver, Colorado. Progress on the North American Free Trade Agreement is one of the topics of discussion during the event. Mexico and the U.S. are meeting this week. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Senior Vice-President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall also says there is also some excitement over a meeting between the U.S. and Japan on trade. “There is a scheduled meeting and we are encouraged by that, because it’s the first meeting we’ve had in quite some time. We were concerned that this was going to fall by the wayside, but it’s obvious that the United States is still very motivated moving forward to getting some sort of bilateral agreement with Japan.”
