Farmers want trade, not aid. That’s according to Hallock, Minnesota farmer Erik Younggren. “If we slap tariffs on to make our crops more expensive internationally, the customers will probably go with price even if they are our good friends. We need to keep working on those relationships and our leaders need to know that too.” Younggren is a past president of the National Association of Wheat Growers.
