NDSU Extension Entomologist Jan Knodel has been seeing an increasing population of grasshoppers in southeast North Dakota. “The young grasshoppers are just changing now to adults in that part of North Dakota. It’s probably not quite as far along up further north or more still in the young stage.” Knodel says if the wheat is close to harvest, the pre-harvest interval will limit what insecticide can be used.
