In a prime-time address, President Donald Trump named Brett Kavanaugh as his pick for the Supreme Court vacancy. Kavanaugh has been a judge on the circuit court of appeals in Washington, D.C. for the past 12 years. During that time, Kavanaugh has ruled on cases impacting agriculture. Last year, there was an opinion offered on how the EPA interpreted domestic supplies for the Renewable Fuel Standard, which was seen as a victory for the ethanol industry. Kavanaugh wrote a concurring opinion four years ago that upheld the constitutionality of country-of-origin labeling.
