The crops in the Ryder, North Dakota area are looking better now that they’ve received some rains. Dakota Agronomy Partners sales agronomist Mark Schatz thinks the dry weather did some damage to the crop. “There’s some reduced stands, especially canola. It sat in the ground three weeks without moisture and then, we had damage from flea beetles.” Farmers have been able to keep up with weed control, but it’s been a challenge. “We had four to five days of strong wind. Then, two inches of rain. It was pretty wet. The herbicide timings are starting to slow. We’re focusing on fungicide timings.”
