National Weather Service-Aberdeen Lead Meteorologist Aaron Dorn expects thunderstorms in parts of South Dakota this weekend. Dorn says North Dakota will see its own rounds of storms Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Back in South Dakota, the Aberdeen area is still dealing with somewhat dry conditions. “There’s been some pretty good rains here in the last couple of weeks across parts of central and north central South Dakota. Thursday’s drought monitor still highlights some some pretty dry weather across much of the western Dakotas and looks like some deep possibly to drought extending there up over north central North Dakota right now.”
