New England, North Dakota farmer Jon Wert finished planting on Memorial Day. However the crop is wet with heavy rains last week. “Actually a little bit too much rain. I hate to say that, because coming off of a terrible drought last year, you never wish the rain away, but the fields are waterlogged, says Wert. “Crops are kind of beat down. Give it a few days and I think things will perk up and look good again.” The rains were heavy at times this past week with flash flooding seen in the region.
