Coleharbor, North Dakota farmer Paul Anderson is making progress on corn planting. There are a few days left for corn and then, Anderson will transition into sunflowers. “We are done with wheat, but we’re actually waiting on moisture for the lentils. We need to plant the lentils at one inch deep for the type we grow. We do need moisture, because where those are going it’s too dry to guarantee good germination. The rain would be very beneficial.” Anderson says even one inch of rain would be helpful for the crop. The area could get that much needed rain this weekend. This year’s planting season is similar to the last-very dry.
