Brazil’s crop supply agency, CONAB, raised Brazil’s 2018 soybean production to 117 million metric tons in Thursday’s report. Brazilian ag consultant and former Greenbush, Minnesota native, Kory Melby, says the soybean crop just keeps getting bigger. “Pre-report analysts nailed it,” said Melby. “The crop was bigger than I thought possible for the year. The northeastern part of the country covered up the small losses in southern Brazil.” CONAB did not make any changes to its second crop corn number. The number is unchanged from April at 63 million tons.
