The first ‘saltie’ (or ocean vessel) of 2018 has made its way to the Port of Duluth-Superior. From there, the vessel is expected to start loading 21,400 metric tons of durum bound for Algeria at the CHS terminal Monday morning. Duluth Seaway Port Authority’s Kate Ferguson says some of the world’s highest-quality grains move from farmers’ fields in Minnesota and North Dakota through the port.
