Minnesota Farmers Union has wrapped up a series of Rural Voice Discussions. At Wednesday’s session in Crookston, MFU Vice President Brian Klabunde said farmers need support in a tough farm economy. “Crop insurance is so important, as well as ARC/PLC programs,” said Klabunde.
“We also heard a lot about conservation, CRP, CSP and EQIP. These programs get funding into rural areas. The takeaway was we need to get as much support as we can into rural areas.”
Klabunde says information will be compiled from this series of meetings and shared with the State Agriculture Department and lawmakers.
