Red River Valley potato growers are working to expand their markets following a trip to the Global Produce and Floral Show in Orlando. National Potato Council Vice President T.J. Hall joined representatives of the Northland Potato Growers Association at the event. “The produce show that they put on down there is just full of all new products, whether it’s potatoes, avocados, you name it,” Hall said. “We got a chance to meet with buyers that we’ve dealt with for many years in the past, along with possible new buyers that we can work with going into the future.” The Northland Potato Growers Association also offered product samples to showcase Red River Valley potatoes. “We are very proud of what we grow up here in North Dakota,” Hall said. “A lot of the fresh market is done on dry land, non-irrigation, which is very unique to the United States and around the world.”
