With ARC and PLC payments landing and Harvest Fuel Relief on the horizon, farmers may be looking for ways to manage their year-end tax bill. Certified Agriculture Group President and CEO Pat Driscoll said uncertainty surrounding the 2027 farm economy may be a reason to keep more cash on hand. “Instead of looking at making the big equipment purchase, maybe look at some of the smaller equipment purchases.” Driscoll said replacing an aging farm pickup could be one option for farmers and ranchers considering Section 179 expensing. “We beat the snot out of our trucks on our farms and our ranches, and sometimes we stretch those things a lot further than they were probably designed to go,” Driscoll said. Certified Agriculture Group works with 27 agricultural companies to provide discounts and rebates through its Certified Agriculture Dealer program. “You couple that Section 179 savings tax strategy with AgPack, you can literally cut the cost of your truck in half because of those AgPack benefits.” Certified Agriculture Dealer locations in the region include dealerships in Bismarck and Sioux Falls.
