Frequent rain, fog and heavy dew continue to frustrate harvest crews. U.S. Custom Harvesters Vice President Mychal Neumiller says fieldwork has been limited. “All the combines in northern North Dakota, they work one day, they sit about three or four, and they work about a half a day and they sit about another three or four.” Neumiller says some canola and wheat remain in the field near the Canadian border. Wheat yields have been relatively good, but quality has become a concern. In some areas, samples are being tested for falling numbers before local elevators will accept the grain.
