Cattle prices may have backed away from their highs, but are still 50 percent higher than the level seen a few years ago. “So that’s like $18 soybeans being our high and we have $27 soybeans,” said Ray Grabanski, Progressive Ag. Cattle prices remain are very high when compared to historical averages. “They’re very high for a very good reason, because we don’t have the numbers, but we’re feeding them heavier and supposedly that’s supposed to limit the demand at some point.” Grabanski was part of the Red River Farm Network Market Outlook panel at the Big Iron Farm Show.
