After an extremely dry growing season in North Dakota’s Cass County, many farmers are ready to put the 2026 crop behind them and look toward next year. “It looks like it’ll be a fairly quick harvest,” said Jonathan Ahl with Pioneer. “They’re ready to start 2027.” Ahl cautions against making long-term production decisions based solely on the experience of one difficult growing season. The performance seen in a short crop may not be representative of how those same practices perform over a longer period.
