Private estimates are pointing toward a lower U.S. corn yield ahead of the USDA crop production report. The average trade estimate puts corn yield at 178.1 bushels per acre, down from USDA’s August estimate of 180.7 bushels per acre. The average soybean yield estimate is 52.5 bushels per acre, also slightly below last month’s report.
