A new study says ethanol is helping hold down gasoline prices during the Iran conflict. The study estimates E10 gasoline has saved drivers an average of thirty eight cents per gallon since the conflict began. The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol blended into U.S. gasoline is replacing more than one million barrels per day of petroleum-based fuel, helping stretch domestic gasoline supplies. RFA President Geoff Cooper says ethanol becomes more valuable to consumers when crude oil prices are high and global petroleum supplies are tight.
