Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is touring North Dakota while also discussing challenges facing the cattle industry. The North Dakota Monitor reports Grassley and his wife, Barbara, toured the North Dakota Capitol Wednesday after visiting the Minnesota Capitol. Their next stop was the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora. Grassley and North Dakota Senator John Hoeven say more needs to be done to help ranchers rebuild the U.S. cattle herd, which is at a 75-year low. The Trump administration is moving ahead with plans to import 300,000 metric tons of foreign beef. Drought is also a concern, with USDA reporting 82 percent of North Dakota cattle were in drought areas as of September 1.
