Crop scouts on the Pro Farmer Crop Tour this week will gain insight into the size of the Midwest corn and soybean crop. The western leg of the tour begins in Sioux Falls this morning and will end the day in Grand Island, Nebraska. “Everybody’s been talking this crop up, everybody has been talking about how good a corn crop we are looking at, so we’re expecting to find some good corn,” said Chip Flory, who is leading the western leg of the tour. Columbus, Ohio is the starting point for the eastern portion of the tour and those crop scouts will connect tonight in Noblesville, Indiana. Both legs of the tour will meet in Rochester at the end of the week. After USDA forecasted record corn production this past week, the Pro Farmer Crop Tour will provide more insight into crop conditions.
